Buying or selling a house can sometimes feel like the most overwhelming process in the world — between the searching, the showings, the back and forth on must-haves, the pricing, the contracts, closing dates, packing (and purging), getting the kids (and the dog!) ready for a move…it’s A LOT.
My job is to make it feel like a little. To take all the stress and the uncertainty off your shoulders by finding you the right house and the right price at the right moment. And while it might not sound possible, trust me, it is.
That’s what I do! I make dealing with real estate stuff easier.
Whether it’s virtually purchasing a house in a place you’ve never lived before or selling your home for the best value, I make sure it happens without a hitch so you feel totally taken care of every step of the way.
So, how’d I get here? Growing up in California, I watched my parents build their retirement plan through investing in real estate and spent weekends helping them work on their rental properties. It took a while before those moments spurred on my actual career, but I think even then I sort of knew where I’d end up.
The working with military families and veterans part became obvious a bit later — 15 years spent working within the US defense department and marrying a Marine helped seal that deal —with the military quite literally becoming family.
Who better to help buyers with PCS and VA loan home purchases than someone who’s actually been there?
With my deep knowledge of the Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax County area (and a determination to get the best for my clients no matter what), I’ve become one of the most referred buyers agents for military families PCSing to Fort Belvoir and the Pentagon.
I won’t just find you a new home or sell your current one, I’ll pitch in on helping with renovations to make the place perfect, set you up with stunning staging and marketing photos, and run virtual tours that feel like you’re inside each space with me.
The thing about providing an over the top amazing experience or your clients is that balance in your own life starts to feel out of grasp. That's why I founded Northern Virginia PCS and asked Barb Hobson, another milspouse with a heart of gold and her finger on the pulse of happenings around town, to join the team. Together we are able to provide round the clock service no matter what life throws at us!
If you’re looking for an agent that incorporates trust, transparency, and fun into every step of the real estate process, I’m your gal!

Good to Knows:
I know just how stressful moving can be. Since marrying into the military back in 1992, I’ve made six PCS moves all over the country, and I couldn’t be more excited to share my expertise with you. Having grown up on a farm in the small community of Greentown, Indiana, I never dreamed I would be moving throughout the United States (including OCONUS!) until I met my husband, who would go on to serve in the Army for 24 years. As a buyer’s agent and rental specialist, I hope to make your move to Northern Virginia as smooth and seamless as possible. Anne likes to say I’m her “surge capacity,” since apart from my usual role, you’ll also see me tagging in on whatever needs to be done on our listings so that we’re always driving progress forward as quickly as possible and providing all of our clients a premium level of service.
What started as some innocent volunteering to help with behind the scenes work for Anne quickly resulted in me acquiring my real estate license in January 2022. Prior to my current position, I worked for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) as a reading instructional assistant, and allowed me to foster many personal and professional relationships within FCPS that I have maintained over the years. My two daughters – Emily, a special education teacher for FCPS, and Grace, a communications specialist at Hilton – were both students of FCPS.
Anne and I receive many questions from clients moving to the area about services for their children with special needs, and my previous experience has equipped me with the right connections and resources to answer each one. If we cannot answer a question immediately, we work until we can, pulling info from my teacher and administrator network; I know how important it is for parents to have peace of mind during such a pivotal change for their children.
I’ve been through every PCS moving scenario you can imagine, and I know they’re not for the faint of heart. My husband and I ventured to Indianapolis, Indiana as a young couple for our first PCS. Our next set of orders came for Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, this time with a toddler. When we received our 3rd set of orders for Fort Sill, Oklahoma, our family had grown again. In 2007, we packed our two kids and basset hound in the minivan and headed to our next duty station in Washington, D.C. It was at this time that I began substitute teaching for FCPS, while we rented a home in the Kings Landing neighborhood of Groveton (Alexandria).
We loved everything about Northern Virginia – the eclectic culture, employment opportunities, pervasive sense of history, and glimmering city lights were enough to make us realize we wanted to retire in the area.
After a stint in Fort Knox, Kentucky, we did just that and accepted a final set of orders back to Alexandria in 2015. After renting in the Stoneybrooke neighborhood of Groveton for a few years, we bought our forever home in 2018 from Anne herself.
Although I don’t miss the headaches that can come from hauling your life around, I’ve always loved the opportunity to meet new people and expand my mindset, which is why I’m so excited you’re considering our team, Northern Virginia PCS, to help you and your family during this critical transition.
Whether it’s a PCS across the globe or just a move across the city, finding the best value for your family is our first priority. We’ve got our finger on the pulse of the Alexandria area and offer “feels like you’re in the room with us” virtual tours to help make the most out of your limited search time. Trusted, transparent, and fun too — this is what you get when we work together. Ready to see what’s out there?
